1. WELCOME TO THE RAGUNAN ZOOLOGICAL PARK 

Established ind 1864 and moved to its present location in the southern suburbs of Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta in 1966,

the Zoo Covers 135 hectares of beatiful, shady gardens. It is home to over 260 species of animals (including many of which are endangered and threatened) from all parts of Indonesia and the rest of the world. There are a total of � 3122 animals including birds for the viewing pleasure of the public. These exhibits also serve to help zoo officials in the preservation and propagation of Indonesian Wildlife. Special attractions for the children include a Children's Zoo and playground, alng with the Sunday events of elephant, pony cart and boat rides. Watching the orang utans on their daily tour of the zoo grounds in a pony cart is a special treat for visitors of all ages. Restaurant facilities and picnic shelters are available for your convenience as well as stands for purchasing film and souvenirs of the zoo.

Come and spend a day with the family or friends at Ragunana Zoological Park. It's a wonderful place for an outing and will become an experience which will raise your awareness of Indonesia's unique wildlife heritage

Did you know that :

Many animals are fed special diets and feeding them peanuts or food brought from home can make them sick. Please don't feed the animals ! (No matter how much they beg !). Used plastic wrappers and bottles can be harmful to the animals. There are trash bins located all over the zoo grounds. It only takes a minute to dispose of rubbish properly. Some animals, if teased, can becomeaggressive. If you would like to see the animals when they are active, ask a zookeeper when feeding time is and avoid the hot afternoon hours when most animals are sleeping. Spitting spreads germs. Many germs in human mouths do not make us sick but can be fatal to animals.

Almost 30.000 Plants, grasses and trees of approximately 250 different species complement the multiple purpose of the park. Ornamental plants, like Bougainvillea, Pachystachys and Chinese hibiscus dot the landscape of Ragunan Zoological Park.

Opening TimesRagunan Zoological Park ( RZP ) is open everyday of the year. From 7:00 a. m. until 6:00 p.m.

Education and research programme at the Ragunan Zoological Park is a scientific Facility for thousand of scolars. Of all level. Eventhough most of them from elementary and junior level, these programme is also open for the higher level. This activity encourage us to Love and cheresh our flora and fauna as natural beauty and to build sense of belonging together with Ragunan Zoolical Park. Ragunan Zoological Park is also a perfect place to do for example scout activities, because there, Students can do both recreations at the same time.
